Privacy Policy
Delulu Maps
Effective Date: 15/08/2026
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Delulu Maps collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Delulu Maps mobile application, website, navigation features, credits, Passport features, and related services (collectively, the "App" or "Services").
In this Privacy Policy, "Delulu Maps", "we", "us", or "our" means the Delulu Maps app, its founder, team, operators, and authorised representatives. Delulu Maps is currently an India-first MVP operated from India.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the App.
1.1 Account and profile information
When you sign in or use an account, we may collect your name and email address provided through Google Sign-In or another supported sign-in method, your Delulu Maps account identifier and authentication-related records, your profile name and other profile details that you choose to provide, and information you provide when contacting support.
1.2 Location and navigation information
Because Delulu Maps provides location-based discovery and navigation, the App and its map or navigation providers may process your current or starting location, precise device location when you grant permission, route, distance, travel-mode, heading, navigation-progress, vibe, range, destination-selection, place, route, and destination information generated while an adventure is prepared or completed.
The App may send your starting location and selected adventure details to services that generate eligible places and routes. During navigation, the map and navigation SDK may process device location to provide routing and guidance. Delulu Maps does not intentionally publish your real-time location to other users.
Location permission can be disabled in device settings, but location-based features may not work without it. The current MVP is designed to use location while the App or navigation feature is being used; it does not intentionally request background location for the Services described here.
1.3 Adventure, credit, and Passport information
We may collect or generate vibes, distance ranges, travel modes, adventure status, route-related records, credit balances, credit usage, credit transaction or adjustment records, Passport entries, destination name, place type, vibe, distance range, completion time, notes you write, and technical records needed to prevent duplicate actions, fraud, misuse, or unauthorised access.
The current MVP records credit additions through an in-app mock purchase flow. Delulu Maps does not currently collect full card numbers, CVV numbers, UPI PINs, or full banking credentials through this mock flow.
1.4 Photos and camera information
When you choose to complete an adventure and save it to your Passport, the App may request camera access, capture a photo, and upload the selected image to our storage provider. The image is associated with your Passport entry and is not intended to be a public photo-sharing post.
The uploaded image may be stored with a file path and a download URL or access token so that the App can display it in your Passport. Avoid photographing other people or sensitive information without permission. If another person appears in a photo, you are responsible for respecting their privacy and rights.
1.5 Device, diagnostic, and usage information
The App and its service providers may process device type, operating system, app version, language, region, network, IP, app-performance, crash, diagnostic, security, authentication, App Check, and error information, as well as features used, screens visited, buttons selected, and navigation attempts.
1.6 Support and communications
If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, registered account details, issue description, screenshots or files you send, transaction details, and communication history.
We may contact you about account activity, support, security, navigation, credit issues, service changes, and important legal or policy updates. Service messages are different from optional marketing messages. You may opt out of optional promotional communications where that option is provided.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts; provide location-based discovery, route generation, and navigation; prepare, start, restore, complete, and cancel adventures; save and display Passport entries, notes, and photos at your request; manage credits and investigate payment or credit errors; provide support; detect fraud, misuse, security incidents, bugs, and technical failures; improve performance, reliability, safety, design, and features; send essential service communications and policy updates; and comply with applicable law, lawful requests, and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not intentionally use precise location to publicly expose your real-time location to other users.
3. How We Process Location
Location is used to determine a starting point, find eligible places, calculate or validate routes, provide navigation, and improve the reliability of the discovery experience.
The map and navigation features may be provided through Google Maps Platform and related SDKs. Those providers may process location and navigation information under their own terms and privacy policies. Delulu Maps does not control processing performed directly by those providers.
If we introduce background-location functionality in the future, we will provide the required permission request and update this Privacy Policy before doing so.
4. Photos, Passport Entries, and User Notes
Passport photos and notes are saved for your account so that you can view your own Passport history. They are not designed as a public social feed, and the App does not currently provide public photo sharing, public stories, user-to-user chat, or community posting.
You retain responsibility for the content you choose to upload or write. Do not upload unlawful, abusive, infringing, private, or harmful content. We may restrict access to content or remove it where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, misuse prevention, or support.
If you request account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete the associated Passport records and stored photos, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, accounting, or backup-retention requirements.
5. How We Share Information
We may share or disclose information only as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
5.1 Service providers
Depending on the feature and platform, Delulu Maps may use or share information with Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication for sign-in; Firebase Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, App Check, and Crashlytics for account data, server processing, storage, security, and diagnostics; Google Maps Platform, Places, and Navigation services for place discovery, route generation, and navigation; email, customer-support, hosting, notification, or infrastructure providers that help us operate the Services; and app stores or payment providers when live payment features are introduced.
These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. They may process information in countries other than India, subject to applicable law and their security practices.
5.2 Legal, safety, and business reasons
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, court orders, regulatory requests, or lawful government demands; protect users, the public, Delulu Maps, or third parties from harm, fraud, misuse, or security threats; enforce the Terms and Conditions; or support a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar business transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining account and Passport functionality, resolving support or payment issues, preventing fraud and misuse, improving security, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
Retention may differ by data type and provider. When information is no longer needed, we may delete it, anonymise it, or aggregate it so it no longer identifies you. Some technical logs, backups, transaction records, or records required for legal or security purposes may remain for a limited period after account closure.
7. Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your Delulu Maps account and associated personal information by emailing delulumaps@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. Include your registered email address, account details, and the words "Account deletion request" in the subject line.
We may ask for reasonable information to verify that the request is from the account holder. After verification, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify account information, Passport entries, notes, photos, and other associated personal information, unless we must retain particular information for a legal obligation, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, accounting, or backup purpose. We will explain any material exception where appropriate.
The current MVP handles deletion requests through support email. An in-app account-deletion control and a separate web deletion-request page may be added later. Logging out or uninstalling the App does not itself delete your account or stored information.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access information associated with your account; correct, complete, or update inaccurate information; delete your account or personal information; withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing; ask how your information is collected, used, or shared; and raise a privacy complaint or grievance.
To make a request, contact delulumaps@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Disabling location, camera, notification, or other device permissions may limit the features available to you. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing already completed lawfully or processing required by law or necessary for security and dispute handling.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No app, server, database, storage system, or internet transmission is completely secure, so protect your account credentials and avoid sharing access links or sensitive information.
10. Children's Privacy
Delulu Maps is intended for adults and is not designed for unsupervised use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18 without appropriate parental or legal-guardian consent and supervision. If we learn that information was collected from a minor without the required consent or supervision, we may restrict access and take reasonable steps to delete it.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The App may depend on third-party services and may refer you to third-party websites, maps, payment systems, or app stores. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies, terms, and settings. Please review those policies before using those services.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our processing practices, or applicable requirements change. For material changes, we may provide notice through the App, email, website, or another reasonable method. The updated policy will be effective from the date stated at the top or from the date it is posted, as applicable.
